John Newton Bennyhoff's Obituary
DECATUR- John Newton Bennyhoff, 96 of Decatur, passed away peacefully at 8:26 am Wednesday May 21, 2025, at Imboden Creek Living Center, surrounded by his family.
Funeral Mass will be held at 11 am Saturday, May 31, 2025, at Holy Family Catholic Church. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Decatur. Memorials are suggested to Holy Family Catholic Church. Moran and Goebel Funeral Home is assisting the family.
John was born on December 24, 1928, in St. Louis, a son of Harry and Margaret (Crenshaw) Bennyhoff. John was a sales executive for International Harvester for many years. John enjoyed woodworking, he loved gardening so he could can tomatoes and he enjoyed working on his farm. John was an active member of Holy Family Catholic Church. John married the love of his life, Joan Grace on January 5, 1950, in Decatur. They celebrated 75 years together.
Surviving are his wife Joan, of Decatur, daughters, Susan Skeffington and her husband John of Decatur and Ann Callahan and her husband Dennis of St. Louis, nine grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
John was greeted in Heaven by his parents, son Johnny and brother David.
