John Coleman Hardy's Obituary
Decatur-John Coleman Hardy, 59, of Decatur, passed away Sunday, June 22, 2014.
John was born August 9, 1954 in Great Falls, Montana the son of Bill and Kathleen (Higgins) Hardy. He was previously employed with Kelly Construction. He graduated Cum Laude from Richland where he studied Political Science and was a member of Phi Theta Kappa. He was an avid reader and loved music and began collecting records early as a child amassing a legendary collection as well as comic books.
John leaves behind his companion Jean Moore of Rochester, son Tyler Hardy of Phoenix, AZ, granddaughter Kailani Hardy, and brothers Roy Frank Hardy of Decatur and James David Hardy and wife Desiree of Waterloo, IL.
John was reunited in Heaven with his parents and his beloved dog Arrow.
John fought a long fifteen year battle against cancer with a bone marrow transplant on June 15, 1999. Rest in peace John your fight is over.
Visitation to celebrate John’s life will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, June 26, 2014 at Moran & Goebel Funeral Home.
