John G. "Jack" Wayne's Obituary
Mr. Wayne was born in Decatur, on April 14, 1913 a son of William A. and Lilly C. Condell Wayne. He worked as a Office Manager for Huss & Schlieper for 24 years retiring in 1979. Jack was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, emeritus member of the National Association of Accountants, past member of the Warrensburg Country Squares Square Dance Club, he was a Army AirForce veteran of WWII where he achieved the rank of Staff Sargent and served two years over seas in England and France in Aircraft Maintenance. Mr. Wayne married Wilma M. Howard on June 21, 1943 in Sarasota, FL.
Surviving are his wife of Decatur; daughters: Cecelia M. Swolley, husband Ron of Morton, IL.; Cynthia A. Gray, husband Jerry of Mansfield, TX.; Christine L. Watson, husband Drew of Decatur; sons: Michael W. Wayne, wife Linda of Decatur; J. Patrick Wayne of Decatur; brother, Joseph E. Wayne, wife Marie of Mt. Zion; sister, Emily Byrkit of Tennessee; 19 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother Albert.
