John Phillip "JP" Johnson 62 of Decatur died Monday July 28, 2003 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services celebrating his life will be 10:00 am Friday August 1, 2003 in J.J. Moran & Sons Funeral Home. Visitation will be 6-8:00 pm Thursday in the funeral Home. Condolence may be made to the family at www.jjmoran.com.
JP was born on November 11, 1940 in Decatur the son of Richard H. and Opal M. Anderson Johnson. He was a retired tire Builder for Firestone and worked as an over the road truck driver for Classic Services. He was a member of the United Steel Workers Union Local 713 and a former member of the Decatur Model Train Club. He married Sharri Hall on June 27, 1980 in Decatur.
Surviving are his wife, sons, Russell Smith Kelly of Grand Island, FL; Steven Smith of Decatur, IL; daughters, Lori Bozarth of Oklahoma City, OK; Kim Kirby Dean of Norman, OK; brother, James W. Johnson Genelle of Decatur, IL; sister, Judy L. Ramey Glenn of Oakley, IL; grandchildren, Daniel, Stephen, Shelby, Clint, and Jordan; many nieces and nephews; good friend Carl and special friends Ginger, Angel, and Punkey his pet dogs and bird.
