John R Martin, 94, of Decatur, died Monday, August 09, 2010 in Lincoln Manor Nursing Home.
Funeral service celebrating JohnÃ?¯Ã?¿Ã?½s life will be 1:00 pm Friday, August 13, 2010 in Moran & Goebel Funeral Home with Pastor C.Q. McMillion officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service in the funeral home. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park with Military rites conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard. Memorials are suggested to Mound Chapel Church of God.
John was born on June 29, 1916 in Mattoon, IL the son of Paul V. and Susan J. Osborn Martin. He retired from the Wabash Rail Road as a machinist supervisor. He served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII in the Pacific theater. He was a member of Ionic Lodge #312 A.F. & A.M. and Mound Chapel Church of God. He married Grace Easley on November 2, 1940 in St. Charles, MO.
Surviving are his wife, Grace, sons, Paul W. Martin Janet of Decatur; David I Martin of Pharr, TX; grandchildren, Phillip S. Martin Amy; Dana S. Jennings; Tony Martin; Johnny Martin; Kelly Dollar; and eleven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his, parents, five brothers, and one sister.
