Decatur - John R. McDermott, 76, of Decatur, passed away Thursday, January 6, 2022, at HSHS St. Mary's Hospital, Decatur, IL.
John was born in Decatur, IL, on July 7, 1945, the son of Robert and Kathryn (Fitzgerald) McDermott. John could fill a room with his smile and laughter. He will be missed by his friends at Spring Creek Terrace and A Step Forward.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister Mary Jane Doubet.
Visitation will be Wednesday, January 19, 2022, from 10 am until the service time of 11 am, at Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Burial will follow at St. Isidore Cemetery, Dalton City.
