John Thomas Moore 89 of Oreana died at 4:05 am Wednesday July 21, 2004 in Saint Mary’s Hospital.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 am Saturday July 24, 2004 in Saint James Catholic Church with Rev. Jeff Grant celebrating, visitation will be Friday July 23, 2004 from 5-7 pm in the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home, where vigil prayer service will be recited at 6:45 pm. John was born in Niantic on January 17, 1915 the son of Hugh J. and Sophie Woodall Moore. He was a member of Saint James Catholic Church for over 60 years, he was a life time member of the Decatur Gun Club, the Decatur Moose. He worked for Grigoleit in Decatur for over 40 years. He married Helen E. Maedacker in Saint Louis, Mo. On March 3, 1938, she survives.
Also surviving include his son, James Moore and wife Delores of Decatur, daughter, Susanne Foster and husband Jerry of Decatur, grandchildren, Kathy McDonald, Scott Foster, Jeff Foster and Bryan Moore; one great grandchild also survives. His sisters, Mary Bollero of Bloomington and Lillian Moore of Decatur; brothers, Joseph Moore, Merle Moore and George W. Moore all of Niantic.
John was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Agnes Selle and one brother Earl Moore.
