Jonny Lee Tyson's Obituary
Jonny Lee Tyson, 61, of Decatur passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2013 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Jon was born on June 2, 1952 in Clinton, IL the son of Thomas Marion and Verna Catherine (Camp) Tyson. He was an Army Veteran, worked for ADM and was a member of Grain Millers Union Local #103G. He married Carol Riddle on June 3, 1978 in Decatur.
Surviving are his wife, Carol; sons, Wesley Tyson of Decatur; Adam Tyson (Nakysha) of Decatur; mother, Verna Tyson of Springfield; brothers, Patrick Tyson (Patty) of Sherman; Michael Tyson (Rhonda) of Sherman; Thomas Tyson Jr. (Jadine) of Downs; sister, Jeannie Nihiser (Larry) of La Place; grandchildren, Kristin Tyson, Carson, Adrienne Tyson, and McKenna Tyson.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Funeral service to celebrate Jon’s life will be 10:30 AM Friday, October 18, 2013 in Moran & Goebel Funeral Home with Pastor Robert Bell and Pastor Tim Lourash offciating. Visitation will be 9:30 -10:30 AM Friday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Camp Butler National Cemetery with military rites conducted by the Inter-Veterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County.
