Joseph M. Anderson's Obituary
Joseph M. Anderson 85, of Decatur, died Monday, August 13, 2007 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Visitation will be 10:00-11:30 am Thursday, August 16, 2007 in Riverside Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 11:30 am. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery with Military Rites conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard.
He was born December 22, 1921 in Pana, IL the son of Glenn and Lelah L. Johnston Anderson. He married Mary Eileen Daugherty on June 20, 1943 in Tower Hill, IL. He served his country proudly during WWII in the US Navy. He was a long time member of Riverside Baptist Church. He loved to golf, gardening and R.V. travel. He retired from Drake-Scruggs Equipment in Springfield, IL.
Surviving are his wife Mary Eileen; children, Joseph Glenn Sylvia Anderson of Bloomington, IL; Margaret David Handyside of Watertown, WI; Bradley Karen Anderson of Wapella, IL; Cheryl Joel Miller of Clarkson Valley, MO; Richard Christine Anderson of Homer, IL; sister, Mary Kathleen Mallinson of San Dimas, CA; grandchildren, Joseph Angie Anderson, Jason DaNiel Anderson, Kimberly Jonathan Dawley, and Timothy Valarie Handyside; great-grandchildren, Rayel Anderson, Sophie Anderson, Jenna Dawley, Keira Dawley, Carly Handyside, and Braxton Anderson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.
