Dear Belva & Family,I am so glad I got to know Jay through the Great Banquet. He was the perfect 'servant of the Servant', kind and funny, a true Christian and gentle-man just like my beloved Daddy. I look forward to joining them some day (if God allows sassy Scotch-Irish Germand Lutheran redheads!)With love & blessings,Susan Kathleen Fischer Wade

My boys have known that we pray for Jay and Belva everyday for the last three year. We now rejoice that Jay is hanging out with Judy and Jesus and keeping all of heaven in stitches with his great sense of humor. We will continue to pray for comfort and peace for you and all of your great family. We are all but a vapor on this earth compared to eternity. We love you!

Although I had not seen Jay in many years, I remember fondly his sense of humor, intelligence, kindness, good looks, and upbeat attitude. (His mother Armella and my mother Loretta were in the "Secret Six" at Ursuline Academy, a group of fun young ladies who grew up to be fun wives and mothers.)I send sincere condolences for your loss.Paul ZurkuhlenTrinity '67Louisville, KY
Meeting Jay in the halls of Trinity were a delight. His pleasantry was always displayed. I for one am going to miss that smile of his. Steve Anderson
Jay and I grew up together in St. Matthews attending Our Lady of Lourdes and Trinity High School. We were in every class together for twelve years. I spent a lot of time at the Gadlage house playing ball and otherwise horsing around. Jay's parents were always welcoming to me and to every other kid in the area. I went on my first high school double date with Jay and his girlfriend Susan Davis. I also remember how good Jay was with cars; he restored a sports car with Susan's father. I did not see Jay much after Trinity, but I always held a really warm spot for him in my heart. He was such a friendly, upbeat person–and so smart too. I send my deepest condolences to his family.
