Joseph J. Sebok, Sr.'s Obituary
Joseph J. Sebok, Sr, 88, of Decatur, entered eternal life to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, September 10, 2008 at McKinley Court Nursing Home.
Joe was born November 16, 1919, in Decatur, the son of William & Verona Heinkle Sebok, Sr. A WWII Army Veteran, Joe was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church and worked in maintenance at CB & Q then Wagners before retiring in 1981. He married Margaret Brilley on June 8, 1940 in St. Louis and she preceded him in death on November 9, 2003.
Surviving are his sons: Joseph Sharon Sebok, Jr. of Decatur and Steven Debra Sebok of Forsyth; daughters: Peggy John McGhee of Rockford and Judith Phillip Gallagher of Decatur; 6 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and brother, Julius Dorothy Sebok of Decatur.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, 7 brothers and 1 sister.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 am, Monday, September 15, 2008 at St. James Catholic Church, Rev Jeff Grant celebrant. Visitation will be one hour prior to the mass. Burial with Military Rites conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard will be in Macon County Memorial Park. Memorials: St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
