After briefly living in Chicago, he returned to Decatur to work first for the Signal Depot and then for Federal Kemper Insurance Co. where he was in the data processing department from 1954 until he retired in 1991. On May 6, 1950, Butch married his high school sweetheart, Dora Marie Garver, and they were blessed with over 59 years of happiness.

One son, John Sherman Stauder, preceded him in death June 2009, as did his parents, and one brother, Eugene L. Stauder.
Butch Stauder loved nothing more in life than his family, and watching his beloved Fightin’ Irish of Notre Dame. We will always miss our husband, father, grandpa, brother and uncle. His love and devotion to us was unconditional and never ending, as is our love for him.
The family of Joseph B. Stauder is being served by Moran & Goebel Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
