Joseph Stickles' Obituary
Joseph “Ted” Stickles, 68, went home Thursday, June 11, 2009.
Memorial service will be 11:00 am Tuesday, June 16, in Moran & Goebel Funeral Home, with Pastor Gerald Thompson officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior. Burial will take place in Macon County Memorial Park. Memorials are suggested to the family.
Ted was born March 24, 1941 to John Thomas, Sr. and Cleda Belle Hoxsey Stickles. He married Dixie Lee Beck on November 24, 1958. He worked for Norfolk & Southern Railroad for 27 years. He later worked as a truck driver for 16 years. He was a charter member of the Old Farts Fishing Club. He loved archery, fishing, and NASCAR.
He is survived by his loving wife of over 50 years, Dixie; daughter, Melody Stickles; son, Mark A. Smith Shannon; three grandchildren; one brother, John T. Stickles Wanda; three sisters, Darlene hale Herman; Alma Schuman; Susan Zientera Jerry; several nieces and nephews, and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
