Joseph P. Vigneri, 90, of Decatur, died Saturday October 25, 2003 in Imboden Creek Living Center.
Funeral Mass celebrating his life will be 10 a.m. Thursday October 30, 2003 in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday in Moran & Goebel Funeral Home with a vigil prayer service at 4:45 p.m. Entombment will be in the Star of Hope Mausoleum in Graceland Cemetery. Joseph was born on January 25, 1913 in Sicily, Italy the son of Joe and Carmella Bevelaqua Vigneri. He was the owner/operator of Pershing Bowl from 1950 to 1997, and a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Joseph married Thelma L. Pettus on August 6, 1955 in Decatur.
Surviving are his wife; son, Joseph W. Vigneri; daughter in law, Martha S. Vigneri; brother, Sam Lena Vigneri; grandchildren: Emily Vigneri and Craig Wilson all from Decatur.
His parents and one brother Tom preceded him in death.
