Joyce Alberta Shotton's Obituary
Joyce Alberta Shotton, 79, of Decatur, went to be with the Lord at 6:17 a.m. on Thursday, July 03, 2014 in St. Mary’s Hospital.
Joyce was born January 18, 1935 in Cisco, IL, the daughter of Harry and Amy Shull. She was a cook at Tom’s Grill for many years, and then she went to be a Gourmet Cook for 32 years at the Holiday Inn. She married George Leon Shotton on July 1st, 1958 in Decatur.
She leaves behind not to mourn her husband of 56 years; daughter, Angelia K and husband Timothy J. Brackett of Oakley, IL; granddaughter Tiffany A. Brackett-Klaus and grandson Timothy Devin Brackett of Simpsonville, SC; six great-grandchildren, Austin, Halie, and Chloe Klaus of Decatur; Devin, Makayla Brackett of Simpsonville, SC; Tony Davis of Decatur; nephew, Shane Shull and wife Shalyn of Decatur; great-nephews, Justin and Jeremy Shull of Decatur; great-niece, Megan Shull of Decatur; two brothers; and two sisters.
She is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Robin Shotton; one brother; and two sisters.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff of Hickory Point Christian Village, Evergreen Assisted Living and to the staff of Heritage Manor. Mama will be deeply missed.
Honoring Joyce’s wishes, cremation services will be provided by Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. No services are planned at this time.
