Joyce Ann Taylor's Obituary
Joyce Taylor, 67, of Decatur, IL, passed away from this life Monday, March 16, 2026, at Decatur Memorial Hospital, Decatur, IL. Joyce was born August 31,1958 in Brownsville, TN, the daughter of Joe G. and Emma Sue (Williams) Taylor. She was a member of Trinity C.M.E. Church. Joyce was employed over her life at Bob Evans, Decatur Memorial Hospital, and Akorn Pharmaceuticals. Joyce had a passion for cooking and gardening.
Left not to mourn but to cherish her one and only son: Eric Lee Taylor whom she loved with all her heart, siblings: Linda Perkins, Joe Taylor, Odelia Parker, and Monie Wills of Decatur, IL, & Jossie Grant of Beloit, WI. Joyce also leaves a special niece: Shawala Holloway and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, siblings: Sherlene (Lee) Goodman of Decatur, IL and Mary Boyd of Memphis, TN.
Joyce Taylor and Family would like to give special thanks to: Dr. Velasco, Dr. Yoon, Sarah-NP, Lynette-ADON, and additional nursing staff, as well as Decatur Memorial Hospital: Dr. Ajmeri and 5100 nursing staff for their loving care and concern shown to Joyce and her family.
Homegoing celebration in honor of Joyce will be held Saturday, March 28, 2026, at 12pm, with the visitation from 11am-12pm at House of Miracles Pentecostal Church. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery.
