Joyce Marie White-Winston's Obituary
Joyce Marie White-Winston 64 of Decatur formerly of Muncie, IN went home to Glory on Tuesday March 11, 2003 in her home.
Home Going Service will be 11:00 A.M. Monday March 17, 2003 in Church of the Living God PGT Temple #3 with Bishop Calvin Peppers Officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Services entrusted to the care of J.J. Moran & Sons Funeral Home.
Joyce was born on February 1, 1939 in Muncie, IN the daughter of the late Smith and Edith Thompson, Jr. She was a former member of New Salem Baptist Church and Later Joined Church of the Living God PGT Temple #3. She married Karl D. Sims of Muncie, IN in 1958. She moved to Decatur, IL in 1968 where she met Ezell E. White, whom she married on May 26, 1974 to whom she kept the promise of, "Until death do us part". She later married Richard "Tony" Winston. She was retired from Caterpillar Inc.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many. She leaves only loving memories to all who knew her. Blessed to be left with loving memories of her: daughters, Karla Jelks and Lisa Sims Robert "June" Neal of Decatur, IL; brother, Ronald Karen Thompson of Muncie, IN; step-children, Larry Pam White, Ricky Linda White, Lue Cindy White, Sherry Ridley, Vernell Ridley all of Decatur; Ezette White Banks of Springfield, IL; Gwendolyn White, Barbara White, Anthony "Red" White, Undra White, Bradley White, and Ezell White Jr. all of Chicago, IL; one niece, one nephew, and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ezell, and brother Curtis Thompson preceded her in death.
