Juanita Nicholson's Obituary
Juanita Nicholson 77, of Decatur, Il departed this life on Monday, December 13, 2021 at Decatur memorial Hospital. Juanita (Singleton) Nicholson was born April 14, 1944, the daughter of Joseph Earl and Helen (Mann) Singleton in Brownsville TN.
Juanita’s Christian journey began early in life. She surrendered her life to Christ at St. Peter C.M.E church, Brownsville, TN., she graduated from Carver High School in Brownsville, TN. In 1964.
She united in holy matrimony to James Nicholson, in 1971. Proverbs 31:31 says, give her of her hands, and let her own works praise her in the gate. Juanita enjoyed cooking, shopping and babysitting her family’s children. She also was employed at Hi Flyer kite factory and General Electric Co.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband James Nicholson three step children carl, Kenneth and Angenett Jones; brother, Roosevelt (Dolores) Singleton, James (Erma) Singleston and Billy (Bernice) Singleton; sister-in-law Eunice Singleton and a host of nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Sheila Ambrose, who serves as her caregiver.
She wa preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Helen Singleton; on child; brothers Earl T, Fred T, Willie Frank, Dan and George Singleton.
A visitation will be held for Juanita on Monday, December 20, 2021 at 10 am at Moran and Goebel Funeral Home, with funeral service to follow at 11 am. Burial will on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at 12:00 noon at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield IL,.
