Julia M. Gentry's Obituary
Decatur- Julia M. Gentry, 93, of Decatur passed away on Thursday, October 4, 2012 in her home.
Julia was born on April 4, 1919 in Decatur, IL the daughter of Roy S. and Margaret (Moser) Hornback. She was a member of Ss. James and Patrick Parish, Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary, and the Sons and Daughters of Ireland. She volunteered at Catholic Charities for many years. She married Harold Gentry in 1937 he preceded her in death in 1976.
Surviving are her son, Dennis Gentry (Janet) of Bethany; daughter-in-law, Susan Gentry of Mt. Zion; grandchildren, Melissa Byers (Brad) of Decatur; Michael Gentry (Sarah) of Bethany; Rachael Crane (Jim) of Arcola; seven great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, Don Gentry, and one brother, Roy Hornback Jr.
Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Tuesday, October 9, 2012 in St. James Catholic Church with Rev. John Burnette as Celebrant. Visitation will be 5-7 PM Monday in Moran & Goebel Funeral Home with a Vigil Prayer Service at 4:30 PM Monday. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park. Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
