Julius Sebok's Obituary
Decatur – Julius Sebok, 82, of Decatur, passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2016, in Fair Havens Christian Home with his family at his side.
Julius was born August 31, 1933, in Decatur, IL, the son of William and Verona (Hankco) Sebok. Julius proudly served his country in the United States Navy serving his time aboard the U.S.S. Alcor during the Korean War. He was a machinist with the railroad and was involved in many organizations, including the Knights of Columbus council #577 and a member of 4th degree Knights of Columbus assembly #0211, Boy Scouts, Squires, and Masonic Lodge.
He married Dorothy Bills on July 1, 1961 in Decatur and they shared 55 wonderful years together.
He is survived by his wife Dorothy of Decatur; son, Eric (Missy) Sebok of Alpharetta, GA; daughter, Elizabeth (John) Apperson of Decatur; grandchildren: Ashton, Ethan, and Emme; great-grandchildren: Aryanna and Trinity, and a host of extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: William Sebok, Joseph Sebok, Paul Sebok, Steve Sebok and John Sebok; and sister, Julia Gallager.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 am, Monday, June 6, 2016, in St. Patrick Catholic Church, 407 E. Eldorado St, Decatur, IL 62523, Rev. John Burnette celebrant. Knights of Columbus will have a special presentation at 9:30 am. Visitation will be one hour prior to the mass in the church. Burial will follow in Camp Butler National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ss. James and Patrick Parish or St. Teresa High School, or City of Decatur, or Decatur Fire Department.
