Karla Hendren's Obituary
Decatur - Karla Hendren, 78, passed away Saturday, March 29, 2025, at her home in Decatur, Illinois.
Karla was born August 6, 1946, in Effingham, the daughter of Theodore B. and Helen L. (Apke) Hoffman. Karla dedicated much of her professional life to helping others with physical and mental handicaps working at the Adolph Meyer Center in Decatur and McFarland Mental Health in Springfield. Besides her dedication to helping others in her professional career, Karla was a great daughter, sister, aunt and wife who was always there helping lift the spirits of her family and friends that needed help. Her presence brought light and joy into many lives. Karla enjoyed traveling, laughing, smiling and getting together with family and friends
Karla is survived by brothers, Steven Hoffman of Lakeland, FL and Mark (Bonnie) Hoffman of Cumming, GA; sister Cindy L. Hoffman of Lakeland, FL, Bonus Children, James(Angie) Hendren of Decatur, IL, SallyAnne Hendren of Seattle, WA, Nick Hendren of Decatur, IL and 5 bonus grandchildren in addition to her best friend of many years, Carol Dickenson and a small group of dedicated friends until the very end.
Karla was preceded in death by her parents; husband Jim Hendren; her brothers, Michael and Ken, and sister, Nancy.
Visitation will be Tuesday, April 22, 2025, from 2pm until the service time of 3pm at the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home.
