Katelean Elizabeth Cook's Obituary
Katelean Elizabeth Cook, 80, of Decatur, died Tuesday, May 27, 2008 her home.
Katelean was born October 28, 1927, in Brownsville, TN, the daughter of Algie and Carrie B. Hayes Taylor. She moved to Decatur in 1937 where she attended public schools. She was a faithful member of New Salem Baptist Church where she served on the Usher Board until her health failed. Katelean was an excellent cook. She worked as a cook at Lakeshore Manor now Lincoln Manor, North Park and McKinley Court Nursing Homes. She was united in Holy Matrimony to Ben Cook in 1947 and this union brought forth 7 children 6 boys and 1 girl.
She leaves to cherish fond memories her children: William Cook of Decatur, Larry Chris Cook of Austin, TX, Jackie Cook, Linda Ricky White and Billy Cook all of Decatur, Vincent Shonda Cook of St. Louis, MO, and Terry Ecila Cook of Decatur; 18 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 sister and 3 brothers.
Homegoing service: 11 am, Monday, June 2, 2008 at New Salem Baptist Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service in the church. Burial will take place in Macon County Memorial Park.
