Keith L. Stewart's Obituary
Decatur – Keith L. Stewart. Sr., 89, of Decatur, passed away Friday, May 5, 2017 in St. Mary’s Hospital, Decatur.
Keith was born December 21, 1927 in Decatur, the son of Glenn R. and Gertrude (Kelley) Stewart. A U.S. Navy veteran of WWII, Keith worked as a union carpenter and was a member of Carpenters Local #742.
He is survived by his son, Keith L. (Mary) Stewart, Jr., of Decatur; daughter, Cynthia Huber of Decatur; grandchildren: Kelsey (Todd) Harrison, Chad Stewart, Shannon (Kris) Daniel and Taylor Hadley; six great grandchildren and brother, Donald G. Stewart. Keith was preceded in death by his parents.
Keith’s passion was shooting pool. He was the captain of many nine ball and eight ball teams that were sponsored by the Sundown Lounge which was his other family.
Private graveside services to celebrate his life will be at Camp Butler National Cemetery with military rites performed by the U.S. Navy and the Macon County Honor Guard. There will be no visitation.
Sincere thanks to the St. Mary’s ER staff, especially Dr. Sagha and ER nurse Rick; St. Mary’s 6th floor staff with a special thanks to Lindsey, RN; Dr. Estrada-Garcia and last, but not least the pastoral care staff. The compassionate and caring help made Keith’s final days as comfortable as possible.

Per Keith’s wishes, a celebration of his life will take place at the Sundown Lounge on Saturday, May 20 at 2pm.
