Kenneth L. "Kenny" Lacey's Obituary
Kenneth L. “Kenny” Lacey, 82, of LaPlace, died Tuesday, June 22, 2010 in St. Mary’s Hospital.
Kenny was born July 9, 1927, in Kinmundy, the son of Dewey and Gladys Sill Lacey. A U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II, Kenny worked as a union Iron Worker. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Iron Workers Local #46, Eagles Lodge, Moose Lodge, and VFW where he served as a state officer for several years. Kenny married Catherine E. Doty on June 13, 1987 in Decatur.
Surviving is his wife, Catherine of LaPlace; step daughter, Cheryl Edward Cathcart of Decatur; grandchildren: Jennifer Kody Riley of Loveland, CO, and Amy Cathcart of Decatur; great grandchildren: Taylor, Sami, Austin, and Justin; brother, Winston Melba Lacey of Decatur; niece, Debra Bailey and nephew, Doug Lacey along with many friends.
Kenny was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Marilyn Hohenstein; step son, Charles E. Cutler, and niece, Diana Lacey.
Memorial service will be 11 am, Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home, with military rites conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard. Memorials gifts are suggested to: VFW or Kidney Foundation.
