Kennith Leon Case's Obituary
Kennith Leon Case, 74, of Decatur, Illinois, passed away October 14, 2023, at his home.
Kenny was born in Mulberry Grove, Illinois, on January 1, 1949, the son of Virgil and Cora (Leeper) Case. He married Ellie Banning on January 8, 1993, in Shelbyville, Illinois. He spent many years on the road driving his semi, a profession that was also his passion. His favorite trucking experiences were his trips to the West Coast accompanied by his wife Ellie. When he wasn’t driving, he enjoyed spending time with his beloved animals. A precious part of his day was when he would pick up his granddaughter Gabby from school. They shared a special bond and a special wave. Kenny attended West Side Church of the Nazarene in Decatur.
Kenny is survived by his wife Ellie; children: Andrea (Matthew) Hartman of Carlyle, IL, Jonelle (Dan) Wells of Carlyle, IL, Jamie (Pat) Horve of Macon, IL, and Jon Lohse of Decatur; brother Floyd (Joyce) Case; grandchildren Quela (Aaron) Minard, Saige Hartman, Kristian Wells, Trisha, Emily Horve, and Gabby Horve; many nieces, nephews, family, and church family members; and his beloved dog Reno. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Nadine Dudley, Merle Leeper, and Joe Case. Kenny is reunited now with his beloved trucking partner, his Saluki Jake.
The family would like to express its sincere thanks to Memorial Hospice, Dr. Perry Guaglianone, and NP Sunni Delahunty for their excellent care and to Pastor Brian Hay for his spiritual care during Kenny’s illness.
Moran & Goebel Funeral Home is providing cremation services for Kenny. A Memorial Service will be celebrated at 3pm on Sunday, October 22, at West Side Church of the Nazarene in Decatur, with visitation one hour prior to the service.
