Kenny Gordon's Obituary
Decatur- Arthur Kenneth “Kenny” Gordon, 80, of Decatur, passed away Saturday, June 27, 2015 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Kenny was born August 12, 1934 in Decatur, Illinois, the son of Arthur W. and Sophia (Stogsdill) Gordon. He was a journeyman wireman and member of IBEW Local #146 for over sixty years. Kenny was a member of First Baptist Church and former member of the Third United Methodist Church. He was an avid runner and life-long St. Louis Cardinals Fan. He enjoyed going to family outings and church events. He was extremely proud of his daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He married Patricia Van Dolah on May 20, 1955. She preceded him in death February 17, 1997. He married Jane (Morgan) Chaney March 7, 1998.
Kenny leaves behind his wife Jane, daughters Julie Gordon, Cindy Landacre (Mike), Kelly Robison (Dave), Robin Steadman (Tim), and Christy Jackson (Andy), sister Virginia Samuels, twelve grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.
Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, and sister.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Shackelford and the nurses and staff at DMH for all of their loving care and support.
Services to celebrate Kenny’s life will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at the First Baptist Church, 1320 Arbor Dr. Decatur, with Pastor Ron French officiating.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Monday, June 29, 2015 at Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Burial will be at Long Point Cemetery in Niantic. Memorials are suggested to the First Baptist Church or the American Cancer Society.
