Kevin Dean Kapper's Obituary
Kevin Dean Kapper, 63, of Decatur, passed away Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Kevin was born March 30, 1956 in Decatur, IL, the son of Maurice “Pete” and Doris Kapper. Kevin graduated from Maroa-Forsyth High School and attended Illinois State University and Millikin University. He retired from Tate and Lyle after 44 years of service.
He coached for many years of youth league baseball for his sons. He was a very kind and caring person who was always ready to help others. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes. He married Elaine Creamer May 8, 1982.
Survivors include his wife Elaine, sons Heath Kapper of Pontiac, Kyle Kapper of Washington D.C. and Bryce (Brittany) Kapper of Washington, IL, his parents Maurice and Doris Kapper, siblings Vicki (Jeff) Largent, Dennis Kapper and Donna (Reggie) Merrill; grandchildren, Andrew, Jeremy, Vanessa, Leo, Knox, and Macy.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday, September 2, 2019 at Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Rev. Rick Weltin will officiate. Burial will follow the service in Boiling Springs Cemetery.
Memorials, in Kevins loving memory, may be made to the American Heart Association.
