Larry Allen Benton's Obituary
Larry "Duck" Allen Benton, 76, passed away on Saturday, December 6, 2025, in Decatur, IL. Larry was born on June 26, 1949, in Memphis, TN, the son of Mary Ellen Smith.
Larry grew up in Memphis and cherished his life's history in Tennessee. Larry was also a veteran who served proudly in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He loved to eat, hang out at home, and work on his cars, but most of all, he adored spending time with his beloved family.
Larry is survived by his five daughters — LeTonya Benton, Laura Worrell, Cassandra Lowery, Keeva Cole, and Bria Benton; seven siblings — Beverly Benton, Lori Benton, Flora McCreary, James Benton, Ronnie Smith, Michael Smith, and Charles Smith; nine grandchildren — Tori Cole, Tyriq Cole, Tyrone Hamilton, Avionna Simmions, Delicia Benton, Falisa Jarrett, Freddie Jarrett, Jr., Zamie Worrell, and Zyrhea Worrell; twelve great-grandchildren; and special friend — Tammy Gentry.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers — Bobby Benton and Floyd Smith, Jr.
A Homegoing Service will be held at 12:00pm on December 26, 2025, at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Military honors will be conducted at the funeral home to honor Larry’s service and sacrifice to this nation.
