Larry J. Foster, Sr. age 60 died at 1:37 pm Sunday October 10, 2004 in Decatur Memorial Hospital after a long illness.
Graveside services will be 10 am Wednesday October 13, 2004 in Mount Gilead Cemetery with Rev. Bill Smith Officiating. The family request causal attire for the service. Immediately following the service the family will greet family and friends at Larry’s brother Barney’s House – his address is 5615 East Monarch in Decatur. In Lieu of flowers the family would like donations to made in Larry’s name to the American Cancer Society – Macon County. Larry was born in Decatur on November 10, 1943 the son of Henry Barney and Sena Elizabeth Logue Foster. He was a member of Operating Engineers Local #965 in Springfield. In his spare time he enjoyed gardening, especially tomato plants; enjoyed fishing, boating, camping, horse riding and spending time with his family. Larry married Sally Alcorn on July 7, 1962 in Danvers.
Larry leaves behind to cherish fond memories his loving wife of 42 years, his daughters; Yvette Foster Lubbers and husband Kevin of Monticello; Lynnette Smith and husband Rudy of Moweaqua; Lori Ann Foster of Dix; grandchildren, Neal Lubbers, Chris Lubbers and wife Brandy, C.J. Palombo and Kayla Palombo; his brothers, Clarence Foster and wife Maxine, Barney Foster and wife Margaret of Decatur and Danny Foster and wife Pam of Boodyand sister; Georgia Mundell also of Decatur . Many nieces and nephews.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, one son Larry J. Foster, Jr.; three brothers, one sister.
