Larry Dean Neal 60 of Decatur passed away at 3:05 pm Sunday April 03, 2005 in his residence.
Funeral Services celebrating his life will be 12:30 pm Wednesday April 06, 2005 in Moran & Goebel Funeral Home, where Rev. Scott Andrews will officiate. Visitation will be Tuesday evening April 05, 2005 in the funeral home from 6-8 pm. Burial will be in Camp Butler National Cemetery in Riverton where military rites will be conducted by the Inter Veteran’s Burial Detail of Sangamon County. Larry was born in West Frankfort on April 07, 1944, the son of Byford and Reta Nadine Threlkeld. He served his country proudly in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He worked for many years at Borg Warner, retiring in 1986. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW, DAV, AMVETS. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mount Zion. He married Maria Weiner in Decatur on July 24, 1965, she survives.
Also surviving his son; Scott Neal and wife Amy of Decatur, brother; Byford and wife Joanne of Gransburg; nieces and nephews include Mike, Sheila, David, Jeanelle and Jill, one grandson Brandon.
Larry was preceded by his parents.
