Lee Ella Cox's Obituary
Decatur – Lee Ella (Shaw) Cox, 75, of Decatur, passed away, Tuesday, November 22, 2016 in St. Mary’s Hospital.
Lee Ella was born July 24, 1941, in Memphis, TN, the daughter of John D. Bond and Willie Mae Shaw. A housekeeper at McKinley Court Nursing Home, Lee Ella married Gus Cox, Jr., in July of 1967. She enjoyed hanging out with her friends and talking on the phone, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Left to cherish fond memories are her husband, Gus of Decatur, children: Cecelia Shaw of San Diego, CA, Gwen (Albert) Currie of Decatur, Vincent (Bridgitte) Cox of Orlando, FL, Lisa Callaway of San Diego, CA, and Angela (Wayne) Carey of Decatur; grandchildren: Keith (Carolyn) Shaw, Christopher Shaw, Roslyn Wicks, Kenya Wicks, Oletha Cox, Albert Cox, Wayne Cox, Shemeka Manley, Kayla Cox, Kyle Cox, Solomon Cox, Vincent Cox, Jr., Gabriella Cox, Ariella Cox, Marques Ware, Darien Callaway, Dan’Nayshia Knight, Adwoah Fosu; brother, Willie (Hazel) Jelks of Decatur; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Lee Ella was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Celestine Wicks,
brother Walter Williams, and sister-in-law Starry Jackson.

Homegoing services to celebrate her life will be 11 AM Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association.
