Lena K. Copeland's Obituary
Lena K. Copeland, 81, of Decatur and Cerro Gordo, left this world to be with the Lord and to join her loving husband who she loved and missed for so long, Friday, April 13, 2007, in McKinley Court Care Centre.
Memorial services will be 10 am Saturday, April 21, 2007 at Maranatha Assembly Of God Church. There will be no visitation and burial will take place at a later date. Memorials: McKinley Court Care Centre.
Lena was born June 15, 1925 in Brisbane, Australia the daughter of John and Maude Moore McGreevy. She was a member of the Catholic Faith and had worked as a receptionist at the Shackelford Clinic. She married Morris Copeland November 29, 1944 in Brisbane, Australia and he preceded her in death in 1981. Lena was given last rites by Fr. James O'Shea and passed away quietly with her daughter Carol holding her hand.
Survivors include her daughters: Carol Lon Reynolds of Decatur, Desley Bernie Greenwood of Australia; son, Morris Lynn Connie Copeland of Decatur; ten grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter; brother, Eddie Marlene McGreevy of Australia; sisters: Nell Bill Phillips and Eileen Bernie Ehmer all of Australia
Preceding her in death are her parents; husband; one son; four brothers and one great grandson.
Lena came so far leaving many family and friends in Australia to come to America. Part of her heart she left there to watch over her daughter Desley. Lena always wanted to go home and now she has.
A special thanks to McKinley Court staff. Lena made many friends and they took special care of her. Lena's family is grateful for their help.
