Leo A. Chalifoux's Obituary
Decatur-Leo A. Chalifoux, 72, of Decatur, passed away Saturday, November 3, 2012 in St. Mary's Hospital.
Funeral Liturgy to celebrate Leo's life will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 7, 2012 in Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, November 6, 2012 in the funeral home. Burial with military honors will be in Camp Butler National Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Northeast Community Fund or the Wounded Warrior Project.
Leo was born August 2, 1940 in Timmons, Ontario, Canada the son of Wilfrid and Marie (Hurad) Chalifoux. He was raised by his Uncle and Aunt George and Andrian Chalifoux. He proudly served his country in U.S. Army during Vietnam. He was a member of the DAV, VFW, and American Legion. He retired from Firestone Company as a millwright. He proudly became a U.S. Citizen in 1995. Leo enjoyed woodworking and oil painting. He married Margaret Pallone August 23, 1964.
He leaves behind Margaret his wife of over forty-eight years, sons Robert Chalifoux and wife Diane of Casner and Joseph Chalifoux of Branson, Missouri, grandchildren Raymond, Nicholas, Alexis, Solomon, and Victor, brother Raymond Chalifoux and wife Pat of Sarnia, Ontario, Canada and will be fondly remembered by many in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was reunited in Heaven with his parents, aunt, uncle, and mother-in-law Constance Pallone.
