The little white haired, three year old girl was so proud to meet her baby brother, Leonard Joseph Stine. It was instant love and pride to be a big sister. I remember his beautiful brown eyes, auburn hair, a sprinkling of freckles on his cheeks, and the summer tans, what a beautiful child he was. I recall the winters, snow ball fights, building snow forts, snow men, and the wonderful family gatherings for Christmas celebrations at Grandma's and Grandpa's house. Summer time would find us making home made ice cream, catching lighting bugs, playing red Rover and kick the can, and drinking cold well water on the farm. Fall would find us gathering the beautiful leaves and having wienie roasts. The dogs, Banty chickens, and horses, he did love He taught me how to saddle and ride our horse, Ribbon. He also taught me how to harness up our pony King to our two wheeled cart and drive it. He served our country as a member of the U.S. Army touring over seas in Germany, and forts State side. He fell in love with Vicky and had five children. He started his own company and was a very hard working man.
The things I will remember the most and be so proud of is the fact that I was, am, and will forever and always be his "Sissy". Now I've aged and my hair is once again white the memories of Leonard, the smile on his face, the twinkle in his beautiful brown eyes, the nick name of Sissy, and the privilege of knowing the boy and the man, is a great honor.. While my heart is broken and sad, my eyes full of tears, I will never forget and will always remember and treasure my wonderful brother, Leonard Joseph Stine. I will love you always, your Sissy, Mary
