Leroy Davis' Obituary
Decatur – Leroy Davis, 70, of Decatur passed away on June 14, 2016 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Leroy was born July 8, 1945 in Sharon, MS to the union of Wesley and Saddie Mae (Luckett) Davis. He retired as a laboratory technician for Tate & Lyle (A. E. Staley Manufacturing). He enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. He married Dorothy Jean Wright on September 21, 1966. She preceded him in death on May 26, 1977.
He leaves not to mourn but cherish fond memories, sons, Willie Roy Davis of Peoria; Rodney Davis of Peoria; Cecil Davis of Peoria; Leondrex Davis of Decatur; daughters, Jennifer O’Neal of Decatur; Angela Forrest (Chaz) of Decatur; longtime companion, Louise O’Neal of Decatur; brothers, Henry Davis (Virginia) of Springfield, MO; James Davis of Decatur; Gregory Davis of Milwaukee, WI; Benard Davis of Decatur; Floyd Powell (Tameka) of Decatur; Louis Brady of Decatur; sisters, Roszilla Davis of Decatur; Audrey Rabb (Matthew) of Sacramento, CA; Hazel Washington of Decatur; Jennifer Jackiewicz (Larry) of Decatur; Wilma James of Milwaukee, WI; Bonnie Strong of Orlando, FL; Bremal Beck of Bloomington; Doll Baby of Tunica, MS; step-children, Carolyn O’Neal and Eddie O’Neal; 25 grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Dorothy; two brothers, Wesley Davis Jr. and Gene Davis; brother-in-law, Charles Strong; step-children, Andrew O’Neal and Elouise O’Neal.
Homegoing services to celebrate Leroy’s life 11 AM Wednesday, June 22, 2016 in Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Visitation will be 10-11 AM Wednesday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
