Leslie Russell Jenkins' Obituary
Leslie Russell Jenkins, 93, of Decatur, passed away Monday morning February 10, 2020, at Imboden Creek Living Center.
Leslie was born May 27, 1926, in Boody, IL to George Robert and Grace Alice (Lourash) Jenkins. He married Margaret Eileen Gregory on December 2, 1945 in Decatur, IL. She passed away August 30, 2011. He was a mechanic at Hazelrigg Inc. for 60 years. He owned several race cars overs the years which raced at Macon Speedway and many other dirt tracks in the Midwest. He enjoyed his word search and his favorite tv shows.
He is survived by his three children, Jim (Ann) Jenkins, Les Paul (Judy) Jenkins and Joe (Sunni) Jenkins; his eleven grandchildren, Jason (Lesley) Jenkins, Dawn (Kelly) Osborne, Tracy Jenkins, Josh Jenkins, Brett Jenkins, Greg (Ragini) Jenkins, Tyler (Brittany) Jenkins, Lindsey (J.D.) Behnke, Jessica Benton, Jacob (Evan) Sefton and Joe (Rebecca) Sefton; his sixteen great-grandchildren; and his brother, Dale (Kaye) Jenkins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Margaret; and two brothers.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Leslie Russell Jenkins will be 11 a.m. Thursday, February 13, 2020, at Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday before the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Point Pleasant Cemetery in Long Creek.
