Lester Odell Nettleship's Obituary
Lester Odell Nettleship, 59, of Decatur, entered into the arms of our Lord on Monday, May 3, 2010 in his home surrounded by his loving family.
Lester was born February 12, 1951, in Decatur, the son of Odell Pershing and Wilma G. “Jackie” Jackson Nettleship. A past member of the Warrensburg Gun Club and member of Life Foursquare Church, Lester owned and operated his own mechanic business for over 20 years. God our Heavenly Father brought together his children, Lester Odell Nettleship and Susan Christine Danner in Holy Matrimony on September 26, 1970 in Decatur. They were high school sweethearts and would have celebrated 40 years of marriage this coming September. They were blessed with one daughter, Megan Christine Nettleship of Decatur.
Remembering Lester with cherished memories is his wife; daughter; mother, Wilma G. “Jackie” Nettleship; sisters: Linda David Benner, Jody John Thornton, and Judy Jack Davis; sister-in-law, Carol Mitch Lowe; special uncles: Loren Faye Jackson and Galen LeAnne Tully; best friends: Tim Arndt, Thomas Stowell, Mike Gilstrap, Jimmy Gilstrap, Chuck Webb, and Ron Sutton; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends
Lester will be greeted in Heaven by many loved ones with loving arms including: his father, Odell; sister, Karen; special grandmother, Norma Tully; in laws: William “Bill” and Joann Danner; brothers-in-law, David W. Danner and Michael W. Paul; nephew, Robbie Davis, niece, April Benner and special friend, Michael Washburn.
Visitation will be from 9 am until the service time at 10 am, Thursday, May 6, 2010, in the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to: Life Foursquare Church or the Decatur-Macon County Humane Society.
The family would like to thank Dr. Khan, Dr. DiLorenzo, Dr. Wiarda, the nurses and staff of 4100 at DMH, and DMH Hospice for their kindness, compassion, and loving care given to Lester during his long illness. They would also like to thank Pastor David Catron, Mrs. Erickson, the congregation and staff of Life Foursquare Church, co-workers, friends and family for all of their prayers, support, and loving concern.
