Lester Trueblood's Obituary
Lester E. Trueblood, 74, of Decatur, died Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at Moweaqua Rehabilitation and Health Center.
Lester was born June 15, 1943, the son of William and Mary (Hamblin) Trueblood. He married Beverly Smith on January 29, 2000 in Decatur, IL.
Lester worked as a laborer with Local #159. He was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. During his leisure, he enjoyed the outdoors and loved gardening and doing yardwork. He was also a great cook and will be fondly remembered for making “Potatoe Candy”.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly; sons, Tom Trueblood of Decatur, Richard Smith (Linda) of Louisiana; daughters, Laura Abbott of Flora, IL, Cindie Miller of Decatur, Mindy Trueblood of Decatur, Tina Smith of Peoria, IL, Venus Harrington (Ronell) of Decatur; brother, Elmer Trueblood (Sharon) of Moweaqua, IL; sister, Virginia Zieberts (Andy) of Decatur; 17 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Martin; daughter, Leslie and sister, Mary Lou.
Funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday March 24, 2018 at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Decatur, IL. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the church. Burial will be at the South Macon Township Cemetery.
