Lillian Freeman's Obituary
Lillian M. Howard Freeman, 95, of Decatur, Illinois, passed away on Friday, July 28, 2023, at Lincolnshire Memory Care.
Lillian was born on April 6, 1928, in Springfield, IL. She was the daughter of Mr. Howard and Irene B. Bryant-Williams. She was a member of The Church of the Living God, C.W.F.F., Decatur, Illinois.
She united in Holy Matrimony to James Freeman on February 14, 1951, and was a devoted wife for 55 years. Lillian along with her husband (James) shared so much love with all the nieces and nephews, especially during the holidays. The family would gather at their home, where it was filled with food, love and laughter. Lillian was a quiet, loving, classy lady with a love for jewelry, music and shopping (especially QVC)!
She leaves not to mourn but to cherish fond memories, her only brother, Sherrill Williams of Orange, California; his children, Michael Williams of Indiana and Angela Williams of Georgia; Special nieces Edith Bond, Carole Freeman, Nakia Hatten and Debra Jelks along with many other beloved Freeman nieces and nephews.
Lillian was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Howard and Irene B. Bryant, the love of her life, James Freeman and special sisters-in-law, Catherine Freeman, Mattie Tucker-Green and Beverly Freeman.
A visitation for Lillian will be held on Saturday, August 5,2023 at 10 a.m. at Moran and Goebel Funeral Home with a Funeral service to follow. A burial will be held at Greenwood Cemetery directly after the funeral service.
The family wants to extend a special thank you to Lincolnshire Memory Care and Memorial hospice for the love and compassion that they showed to Lillian.
