Linda L. Kitson, 55 of Decatur passed away Tuesday June 17, 2003 at her residence.
Services celebrating her life will be 12 p.m. Saturday June 21, 2003 in St. John's Episcopal Church in Decatur. Where Visitation will be from 4 - 6 p.m. Friday June 20, 2003 in her church. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Condolences to the family may be made at www.jjmoran.com
Linda was born in Indianapolis, Indiana the daughter of Herman "Jack" and Irene Camden. Linda graduated from Mt. Zion High School, attended Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, later graduating from Millikin University in Decatur. She was active member of the St. John's Episcopal Church and of her community. She served two terms on the church vestry board and as the rector's warden. She was a district representative of the American Red Cross as well served on the National Board for the American Red Cross. She was an avid golfer, playing on many area leagues. During her son's youth, she contributed to efforts of the local Boy Scout Troops. She was a Quality Assurance Manager for ADM in Decatur spanning over 32 years. She married William Hanson in 1978, he died in 1985, and She then married Carter Kitson on May 5, 1987 in Decatur. He Survives
Also surviving are her sons; Robert Hanson of Decatur, Colley Kitson and wife Rachel of Clinton, Illinois, brother; Carl Matthews of Allen, Texas, sister; Sherry Montague of Fresno, California; aunt Adeline Zorman of Indianapolis, Indiana and four grandchildren who adored and will miss her.
Linda loved life and lived it to the fullest to the very end. She was a great source of encouragement, help and strength to those around her. She lived a life of courage and faith and shared the love of Christ within her. She was dearly loved by her family and friends and will be greatly missed.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents; 1st husband William; her son David.
