Lloyd J. Blankenship's Obituary
Lloyd J. Blankenship 86 of Decatur died at 4:30 am Wednesday October 13, 2004 in ManorCare Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am Friday October 15, 2004 in Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour before service. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park. Lloyd was born in Ramsey on July 04, 1918 the son of Nova M. and Alice Harris Blankenship. He was Coordinator of new construction for A.E. Staley Manufacturing for over 41 years. He was an U.S. Army Veteran, and was POW during the World War II. He was member of the American Legion, DAV, and Ponies of America Club. He married Betty Oliver on October 19, 1946 in Decatur.
Surviving are his wife; sons, Dale Blankenship and wife Karen of Springfield; Donald Blankenship and wife Jill Kempf of Austin, TX; daughters, Janet Dobson of Cerro Gordo; Carol Shackelford of Williamson, SC; and Kelli Blankenship of Decatur; nine grandchildren, three great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Lloyd was preceded in death by three brothers and 1 sister.
