Lois M. Mars' Obituary
Lois M. Mars, 85, of Decatur, died Thursday, April 7, 2011 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Lois was born December 3, 1925 in Assumption the daughter of Royal J. and Lucille J. Cocagne Delaney. A member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Lois worked as a secretary for Starite Hairpin Factory in Shelbyville and Clean Towel/F.W. Means in Decatur. She loved all of her grandchildren deeply and enjoyed search word puzzles and playing Pac-Man. Lois married Chester “Chet” Mars October 19, 1945 in Mt. Zion and he preceded her in death on July 28, 1970.
She is survived by her daughters: Sharon Lou Scott Campbell and Karen Sue Smith of Decatur and Brenda Kay Kenneth Wilderman of Moweaqua; sons: Gary Lee Donna Lou Mars of Mt. Zion and Terry Joe Patricia Mars of Decatur; 11 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; sisters: Anna Marie Rawlings of Alamo, TX, and Norma Louise Massey of Pekin; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Dianna Lynn Mars and sister, Mary Jane Washburn.
Mass of Christian Burial celebrating her life will be 11 am Monday, April 11, 2011 in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church; Rev. Richard Weltin, Celebrant. Visitation will be one hour before the service in the church. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Tower Hill Cemetery, Tower Hill, IL.
