Lois W. Scales' Obituary
Lois W. Scales, 92, of Decatur passed away on October 2, 2009 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Lois was born on January 15, 1917 in Elizabethton, TN the daughter of Nathaniel Taylor and Daisy Mettetal Williams. She attended college at East Tennessee State and was affiliated with Hyde Park Methodist Church in Tampa, FL. She worked as a bookkeeper for R.V. Money Inc. Air Conditioning Company in St. Petersburg, FL. She was a people person and loved family, cooking, camping, fishing, motor homing, sewing, embroidering, crocheting, and football games. She married LeRoy Scales on September 5, 1959 in Tampa, FL.
Surviving is her husband, LeRoy Scales, sons, Donald F. Rhodes Mary Ann of Torrington, CT; Stephen L. Rhodes Sharon of Walhalla, SC; step-son, Steven Scales Diane of Decatur; Brother N.T. Williams Jr. Eileen of Brandon, FL; 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother Howard W. Williams.
The family would like to thank Cancer Care Specialist of Central Illinois, Ray’s Pharmacy, Eagle Ridge of Decatur, Dr. Muhammad Khan, and Decatur Memorial Hospital staff for all their care.
Memorial service will be 2:30 pm Wednesday October 7, 2009 in Eagle Ridge of Decatur, 875 W. McKinley Ave. with Rev. Danny Cox officiating. Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association or Cancer Care Charitable Fund.
