Lola Mae Smothers' Obituary
Decatur – Lola Mae Smothers, 82, of Decatur passed away Tuesday, May 8, 2012 in her home with her family by her side.
Lola was born on May 7, 1930 in Hickory Point Township the daughter of Lannie and Annie Smothers Pharis. She worked at Shootles-Model- Paris Drycleaners and Jayne’s Drycleaners for many years. She married Jewell Richard Smothers on June 29, 1951 in Decatur.
Surviving are her sons, Bernie Smothers Susan of Decatur; Daniel Smothers Terri of Lovington; Bobby Smothers of Johnson City; daughters, Brenda Justice of Decatur; Linda Utley of Olney; brother, Bud Pharis Mary of Decatur; sisters, Eva Bagley of Decatur; Lorraine Ferris Clifford of Bristol, VA; 14 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother, Roy Pharis, one sister, Margaret Floyd, and one great-granddaughter.
The family would like to thank Susan and Theresa for all their care and kindness.
Service to celebrate Lola’s life will be 11 am Friday, May 11, 2012 in Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to service in the funeral home. Private family Burial will be at a later date. Memorials are suggested to DMH Home Health Care.
