Loran O. Vaughan's Obituary
Loran O. Vaughan, 87, of Atwood passed away in Carle Foundation Hospital at 11:55 pm on Wednesday, February 16, 2011.
Loran was born on October 24, 1923 in Lafayette, IN the son of Ada Vaughan. He was veteran of US Navy and Air Force. He was retired from U.S.I. Chemical Company. He also worked for Harris Electric and as a bus driver in Atwood and Tuscola. He married Loretta Curry-Ayres on February 6, 1980 in Springfield, IL.
Surviving are his wife, Loretta; daughters, Julie Turner Ralph of Mt. Zion; Diane Novak Mark of Rochester; Fraya Vaughan of Arizona; step-son, Randy Ayres of Las Vegas, NV; step-daughter, Marsha Burgener Robert of Hammond; four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, and six step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
Graveside service will be 3:00 pm Sunday, February 20, 2011 in Hewitt Cemetery - Lovington. Memorials are suggested to American Legion James Reeder post 770 or the Atwood-Hammond Public Library.
