Loren V. Carpenter's Obituary
Loren Vaugh Carpenter, 87, of Decatur, passed away Saturday, September 23, 2017, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Loren was born on August 7, 1930 to the late Vere and Henrietta (Philby) Carpenter. He married the love of his life, Virginia, on November 13, 1951.
Loren was a member of the NRA and the VFW. He loved bowling, golfing and fighting the air as he watched a good boxing match. He also volunteered at the Special Olympics for many years.
Loren leaves behind to cherish his precious memories; one son, Gene Carpenter; two daughters, Belinda (John) Roy and Virginia (Gary) Carter; one brother, Jack Carpenter; grandchildren, Carrie, Michelle, Stacey, Nichole (Robert), Chase and Lauren(SR); great-grandchildren, Blaine, Kaleb, Hunter, Alexis, Zack, Addison, Kylie and Carter.
Loren was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two brothers and two sisters.

Funeral service to celebrate the life of Loren will be held on Friday, September 29, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Moran and Goebel Funeral Home, 2801 N. Monroe Street, Decatur, IL, 62526 on with visitation the evening prior on September 28, 2017 from 5 to 7 PM.
