Lorraine Kathryn Grospitz's Obituary
Decatur- Lorraine Kathryn Grospitz, 95, of Decatur, passed away Saturday, February 28, 2015 at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Lorraine was born April 1, 1919, in Boody, to Wayne T. and Mary Helen (Warnick) Burke. She married Dale Richard Grospitz on November 17, 1941 in St. Louis. He passed February 17, 1993.
She is survived by one son, Richard Burke (Cheryl) Grospitz of Nevada; two daughters, Judy Ann Melvin and Kay Helen Ray both of Decatur; six grandchildren, Troy Grospitz, Amy Harper, Tara Melvin, Cody Ray, Jamie Whicker and Machelle Grospitz; eleven great-grandchildren; and a friend, Loretta Hill of Decatur.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dale and one brother, Emery “Bud” Burke.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Lorraine Grospitz will be 3 p.m. Monday, March 9, 2015, at Zion Cemetery in Boody. Family visitation will be from 1:30p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday, March 9, 2015 before the service at Moran & Goebel Funeral Home in Decatur. Memorials may be directed to the family to be designated to a charity of their choice.
