Louis Thomas Blue's Obituary
Today we cherish the memory of Louis Thomas “Jody” Blue, 57, of Decatur.
On Monday, July 5, 2010, he departed this life after a lengthy illness leaving behind all of his aches and pains. Now he has gone home to be with our Heavenly Father whom is watching over him. He was born January 25, 1953 to the union of Louis Thomas Sr. and Katherine Blue in Decatur, Illinois.
Louis received the Lord Jesus Christ in his heart and joined Community Temple Church of God In Christ, where he remained a member until his timely death.
After retiring from Norfolk and Western Railroad, he began repairing houses and became a local landlord. During his free time he enjoyed growing roses, flying his Roller Pigeons day and night. He loved taking the grandchildren fishing at the lake and other outside outings.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 38 years, Brenda Cooper Blue. To that union was born four sons, Marcellus, Corin, Dameon and Brandon all of Decatur, Illinois. There are eight grandchildren Breamla, Cheyenne, Chemise, Romeon, Alexus, Zavier, Brandon Jr and Marcellus, Jr.; his mother, Katherine Blue; two brothers, Anthony Blue of Macon, GA; and Lawrence Blue of Decatur, IL; three sisters, Mary Price Charles Decatur, IL; Ella Blue of Decatur, IL and Maxine Blue of Glendale, AZ; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Jody was preceded in death by his grandparents, his father, brother, Dennis Blue and other aunts and uncles.
Homgoing service celebrating the life of Louis Thomas “Jody” Blue will be 12 noon Saturday, July 10, 2010 in Community Temple COGIC, 759 S. Jackson, Decatur, IL with Elder Dewayne Jones officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service in the church. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Decatur.
The family of Louis Thomas “Jody” Blue has entrusted the care of their loved one to Moran & Goebel Funeral Home and Cremation service, 2801 N. Monroe Street, Decatur.
