Lovell L. "Fletch" Fletcher's Obituary
Lovell L. “Fletch” Fletcher, 86, of Decatur, died Thursday, June 17, 2010 in his home.
Fletch was born May 25, 1924, in Montrose, IL, the son of Earl and Grace Elder Fletcher. A union truck driver retiring in 1981, Lovell was an Army Veteran of World War II. He served in the 80th Infantry Division in England and France from 1943 to 1946. Part of that time was spent in the Third Army under the direction of General George S. Patton, Jr. He was a member of the VFW and Teamsters Union. Fletch married Betty J. Fletcher in 1952 and she preceded him in death. He then married Martha J. Reiff on July 25, 1980 in Decatur.
Surviving is his wife Martha of Decatur; sons: Alan Kathy Fletcher of Buffalo, NY, and Jack Lisa Fletcher of Palm Harbor, FL; daughter, Teresa Dennis Groves of Decatur; grandchildren: Chandra Voyles, Kristina Bandy, Krystle Fletcher, Erin Groves, Shelby Fletcher, Chelsea Fletcher, Ryan Fletcher, and Brittany Fletcher; great grandchildren: Erykah, Clayten, and Michael Bandy, Savannah Fletcher, Kalystah Voyles, and Jackson Groves; step-children: Eric Barbara Reiff of Houston, TX, Ellen Jeff Hanson of Cedar Rapids, IA, and Lea Pering of Chandler, AZ; step grandchildren: Marcus & Kyle Reiff, Kimberly, Kristine, & Michael Hanson, and Nicholas Pering.
Lovell was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 am, Monday, June 21, 2010, at Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at 12 noon in Camp Butler National Cemetery with military rites conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard.
