Lucille C. Mahler's Obituary
Forsyth - Lucille Consetta Mahler, 95, of Forsyth, passed away on Tuesday, June 23, 2026.
Born on September 21, 1930, in the Chicago suburbs, Lu met her husband William “Bill” Mahler at work (she was a secretary in the accounting department and he was a salesman). They were married on September 15, 1956, in Riverside, IL. Bill passed away on April 4, 2023, after nearly 67 years of marriage.

They sold the business in 1992 and retired in Monticello where they passionately maintained the grounds, trees and gardens of their 3-acre property. In the early 2000's they decided to downsize to a condo in Champaign, II and eventually relocated to Forsyth in 2019 to be closer to family.
They loved boating, gardening, card games, puzzles, music including playing the piano and singing, and spending time with their 17 nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Lu was preceded in death by her parents, Cosimo and Lucille Sansone; five sisters, Vincenza Behrle, Eileen Matiya, Elvira Sansone, Jeanne Tyrolt and Patricia Gerger; three nephews, Eric Behrle, Bradley Gerger and Scott Matiya; and two great-nephews, Charles Tyrolt and Daniel Matiya.
Surviving are 14 nieces and nephews, Greg (Mary) Matiya, Jeff (Carol) Matiya, Kevin (Karen) Behrle, Karen (Mike) Sobecki, Mike (Carla) Gerger, Kim (Frank) Rumoro, Steve (Murph) Gerger, Susan Montague, Nancy Tyrolt, Catherine (Scott) Allen, Lois Boyd, James Tyrolt, Gail (Vincent) Mish and David (Alissa) Tyrolt; and dozens of great and great-great nieces and nephews.
